ISLAMABAD, Feb 2: The government on Thursday presented two falcons of Pakistan’s best breed to King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Pakistan, an official told Dawn.

The falcons were gifted to the king during his visit to Shakarparian garden where he planted a sapling.

The official said the falcons were brought to the capital from Attock by Islamabad administration on the directives of the interior division. The king planted a sapling of “pinus roxburghi” commonly known as pine tree at the Shakarparian dignitaries’ plantation site.

President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and senior government officials were also present on the occasion. After planting the sapling, the king was escorted to Islamabad airport from where he left for Saudi Arabia at about 5pm.

Earlier, the king distributed gifts among the earthquake- affected children of Azad Kashmir in a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House.
