ISLAMABAD, Feb 1: A requisition has been made for holding a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports to discuss matters relating to Hyderabad’s Niaz Stadium.

Senators Dr. Murad Ali Shah, M. Aslam Buledi and Muhammad Enver Baig have requested the chairman of the committee to convene the meeting.

The senators want to question the relevant people why the stadium was not being utilised for the purpose it was built.

They have asked for the District Nazim and DCO of Hyderabad and officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appear before the committee and give explanations.

A written explanation from the city officials on why marriage parties were being allowed at the venue, has also been sought.
