Guard dies in the line of duty

GUJRANWALA, Feb 1: The dacoits looted a house on Sheikhupura road and killed a security guard during a robbery bid on the GT Road on Wednesday.

Reports said three dacoits barged into the house of the sister of a religious party’s office-bearer, Muhammad Naeem Butt, and took away Rs80,000 cash, 80 tolas of gold jewellry and other valuables.

In the other incident, two robbers entered a shop and held hostage the owner, Aslam and his son Naeem at gunpoint. They told them to hand over all cash in the shop. In the meantime, the shops’ security guard tried to overpower the robbers, who opened fire on him. The guard died on the spot while the outlaws escaped.

Police have registered the case against unidentified outlaws.
