TOBA TEK SINGH: A physically-challenged child died while his challenged minor brother was wounded due to torture inflicted by their mother and stepfather on Monday in Gojra city, the police said. Complainant Zahoor Hussain from Bhakkar said in his FIR that after a divorce, his former wife Sadia Bibi remarried Usman from Gojra.

The couple retained custody of Zahoor’s physically-challenged sons Ali Hassan (8) and Abdullah (10). Both children were subjected to severe abuse by their mother and stepfather.

Ali Hassan succumbed to his injuries, while Abdullah’s condition was critical, and the Gojra THQ Hospital referred him to the Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital. The accused couple has been arrested.

INJURED: Four people were injured in a brawl arising from a property dispute near Adda Khewa on Chiniot Road in Jhang on Monday.

The relatives of the family opened fire and left Fazal Din (74), his wife Kaniz Fatima (65), his son Jagday Khan (45), and his sister-in-law Fatima Bibi (60) injured. They were rushed to the Jhang DHQ Hospital.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died in an accident in Jarranwala near Tehsil Courts Complex on Monday.

Nasim Akhtar of Chak 61-GB was riding a motorcycle when he collided with another motorcycle leading to his fall onto the road. A truck ran him over, causing critical injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his wounds.

DROWNS: A minor boy drowned in an uncovered manhole in Khanewal on Sunday night.

Khanewal Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sind has written to the Punjab Local Government secretary for strict action against Khanewal Municipal Committee Chief Officer Qasim Shakeel for negligence.

Furthermore, a separate letter has been sent to the Khanewal DPO for the registration of a negligence case. Muhammad Muaz (8), son of Saeed Ahmad from Khokhar Abad locality, fell into the manhole while playing in the area.

KILLED: Robbers shot dead a man and injured his brother in Khanewal in Chak 98 Chowk located near Mianchannu on Monday.

Rescue 1122 said Muhammad Haseeb and his brother Muhammad Hashim were on way by their car when two motorcyclists intercepted them on gunpoint but they sped their vehicle over which outlaws opened fire at both and as a result they were seriously wounded.

Haseeb succumbed to his injuries while Hashim was shifted to the Mian Channu THQ Hospital.
