NAWABSHAH, Feb 1: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has appealed to ulema to practice restraint during the month of Muharram and avoid speeches inciting hatred against other Muslim sects.

He was speaking at a meeting with Shia and Sunni ulema at the Circuit House here on late Tuesday night.

He asked them to give lessons of love and harmony for unity of the Muslims.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Home Department banned entry of 18 ulema of the two sects in the Nawabshah district during Muharram.

The banned Sunni ulema are: Maulvi Abdul Hameed Lund from Khairpur, Maulvi Abdul Ayub Bandhani from Sukkur, Maulana Sher Hyder from Khairpur, Maulana Ghulam Kibria from Lahore, Abdul Ubedullah from Badin, Maulana Abdul Rahim from Sanghar, Maulana Abdul Qadir Rind from Ubauro, Maulana Ubedur Rahim from Kamalia, Maulana Sultan Mehmood from Multan, Maulana Ramzan Noorani from Ahmedpur Sharkia.

The banned Shia ulema are: Maulvi Hakeem Solangi from Khairpur, Zakir Saleh Shar from Khairpur, Maulana Asad Shar from Khairpur, Zakir Mohammad from Sanghar, Allama Baqar Najfi from Karachi, Allama Ghulam Raza from Chakwal, Allama Ghulam Raza Jaffri from Karachi and Zakir Mushtaq Ahmad from Lahore.
