QUETTA: Member of the Balochi Academy have expressed concern over the discontinuation of syllabus development for Balochi subjects in government schools and highlighted the importance of a structured curriculum for effective teaching.

The Balochi Academy in its 65th annual general body meeting on Sunday, presided over by chairman Sangat Rafiq, demanded that Balochi language be also taught at college level.

For this purpose, they demanded advertisement for vacancies of Balochi language teachers be published through the Public Service Commission for government colleges.

While thanking Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo for increasing the annual grant to Rs50 million, they expressed hope that other literary institutions promoting Balochi language and literature would also receive increased funding.

The general body also approved the financial report at the meeting.
