LAHORE: Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Al-fareed Zafar says the health condition of Rizwana, a victim of domestic violence, has improved well.

While updating to media representatives about her latest health status, he said she was asking for food by herself and her psychological condition was also fine.

Head of Special Medical Board Prof Jodat Saleem, MS Dr Khalid bin Aslam and other experts were also present there.

Dr Zafar said Rizwana on Tuesday night requested a duty doctor to discharge her, saying she wanted to go back home.

He said though the girl’s condition was better than before, she had difficulty in breathing due to lung infection.

Moreover, he said owing to blood infection, the body parts were affected and after the infection is controlled, surgery on the right arm will be possible.

The LGH chief executive said she did not get proper medical care before coming to the hospital due to which she contracted infections.

He added that the medical staff changed the wounds dressing of Rizwana twice or thrice a day and there were problems related to internal organs like lungs and heart.

The doctors have done bronchoscopy of the injured girl twice and cannot do the same procedure any more.

He said Rizwana has two fractures in her arms, the right arm will undergo surgery, but this will be possible only when the infection in her body is fully controlled.
