LOWER DIR: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sahibullah has said the members and officials of Balambat tehsil council face difficulties in running day-to-day affairs owing to the absence of its chairman Asim Shoaib.

Talking to journalists here on Thursday, he said that Balambat tehsil council chairman Asim Shoaib had gone underground after the May 9 and 10 riots as he was wanted by police and other security agencies for attacking the FC public school and Dir Scouts’ fort.

The PPP leader said that several affairs like salaries of the staff, utility bills of water supply schemes and newspaper advertisements were pending because the tehsil council chairman had gone into hiding. He said that people visited the office but returned empty handed.

He said that government and its relevant ministry should issue a call attention notice to the missing chairman and the council should be authorised to elect another chief if he failed to turn up within the next 10 days.

Meanwhile, PPP district secretary information Advocate Alamzeb told local journalists that Federal Minister Faisal Karim Kundi and party’s provincial president Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha would visit the district and address a public gathering in Talash on July 30.
