HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The additional chief secretary, Planning and Development, Shahzado Shaikh, has directed the officials concerned to ensure that every development scheme is properly monitored and completed on schedule.

He was presiding over a meeting held at the Shahbaz Hall here the other day.

The meeting reviewed the progress of various schemes of Hyderabad district falling under the annual development programme (ADP).

Mr Shaikh asked the district coordinating officer, Hyderabad, to form a technical committee to submit a report and recommendations within one week to amalgamate various components of the schemes into one for early release of funds so that the old schemes could be completed during the next financial year.

Me Shaikh told the meeting that Rs455 million had been earmarked for water supply schemes but due to the indifferent attitude of the officials, the schemes could not be prepared.

He said that due to the devolution processes, coordinators for each taluka of Hyderabad district were being appointed who would prepare water supply schemes.

These schemes would have to be approved by the district government before funding, he added.
