KARACHI: The benchmark of top shares listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) crossed the psychological barrier of 46,000 points on Monday in anticipation of the earnings announcements due this week.

The index has gained 4,602 points or more than 11 per cent since the conclusion of the SBA.
Trading saw the index float within a band of 324 points — up 275 points and down 49 points — as investors opted to book partial profits in cyclical stocks. They also strengthened their positions in banking stocks ahead of the monetary policy announcement scheduled next week.
