LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has removed Services Hospital Principal Dr Farooq Afzal and Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Ahtishamul Haq following a prolonged power breakdown at the state-run hospital in hot and humid conditions.

To replace them, the government transferred the medical superintendents of Lady Willingdon Hospital Prof Zohra Khanum and Mayo Hospital’s Dr Munir Ahmad and posted them as the new principal and MS of the Services Hospital, respectively.

According to a notifications issued here on Monday, both the newly-appointed principal and MS of the Services Hospital have been assigned additional charge of the respective posts for a period of three months.

Dr Afzal and Dr Ahtishamul Haq have been made officers on special duty (OSD) and directed to report to the Specialised Healthcare Medical Education Department till further order.
