KARACHI, Feb 1: Inspector general police Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, announced that a cash reward of Rs9.047 million would be distributed among those traffic police officials who performed well for improving traffic flow and issued maximum challan for traffic violations.
Addressing a traffic police darbar in Karachi at the central police office the other day, he said that cash prizes would be distributed from the amount of the fines received through the ticketing system.
He said those prizes were being distributed on the directives of President General Pervez Musharraf and would be enhanced on good performance.
He maintained that department was seriously considering changing the colour of traffic police uniform. He said that every traffic police official would be given an extra uniform annually.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG traffic Saud Mirza, said that during the last 20 days the traffic police had nabbed more than 700 drivers for reckless driving.—PPI
