KOHAT, Jan 30: Two swindlers disappeared with more than Rs900,000 after promising to provide their victims visas and jobs in the UAE, police said on Monday. In a joint report filed in the Janglikhel police station, the 15 men seeking jobs overseas said they had collectively paid more than Rs900,000 to Tariq Badshah and Bahadur Khan, residents of Janglekhel, on the pretext of getting UAE visas.
They said the two men had promised to get their passports and visas ready in 15 days but a few weeks after that when nothing was done they became suspicious. The victims said they had tried many times to contact the two men at their homes and through their relatives but were told that both men had left the town long ago.
According to the first information report, the swindlers took Rs60,000 from Abdul Manan (Kohat), Rs340,000 from Mohammad Younis (Dara Adam Khel), Rs50,000 from Syed Nawaz (Karak), Rs42,000 from Muzammil Shah (Kohat), Rs60,000 from Khayal Zada (Lachi Town), Rs10,000 from Nek Badshah (Kohat), Rs95,000 from Imam Khan (Karak), Rs100,000 from Mohammad Ishaq (Kohat), Rs71,000 from Saeedur Rehman (Karak) and Rs65,000 from Sher Ghulam of Timergara.
