KARACHI, Jan 30: Chairman, Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, Karachi, Fatehyab Ali Khan, on Monday left for India to participate in World Peace Conference 2006 at Pune being held on eve of 60th anniversary year celebrations of UN and Unesco.

A number of eminent thinkers, philosophers, scientists, educationists, academicians, spiritual leaders and experts from various other fields attending the five-day conference will deliberate on the role of world organizations for effective promotion of global peace.

The theme is “Vision of Unesco for 21st century — education for peace and sustainable development”, role of Gandhi, Ganga and Giriraj Himalaya symbolizing peace, life and ecology.—PPI
