BITTER remarks on the “purest propaganda” in the Press calculated to prejudice the course of justice marked the close of the 70-minute discussion on an application on behalf of Mr M.A. Khuhro summoning three Government files in the Court, at the Sind Special Court of Inquiry, Karachi, on Friday [July 16].

“These applications are made for the sole purpose of providing headlines for the Sind Observer to throw mud at the innocent predecessors of Mr Khuhro and to show to the world that Mr Khuhro had a lot of material which was not allowed to be produced before the Court to damn all other ministers,” contended the Special Counsel. Sir Iqbal, the Defence Counsel, took strong exception to the “insinuations” made by the Special Counsel, but Sir Abdur Rashid, the President of the Court, observed: “I call it the purest propaganda to publish six paragraphs of an application verbatim which was rejected by the Court.” … “The Court cannot shut its eyes to the fact that so far as this application was concerned it

was published in the Sind Observer only… .” — Dawn Staff Correspondent
