Yasir clinches bronze

BANGKOK: Pakistan’s javelin thrower Mohammad Yasir Sultan secured the bronze medal at the Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok on Sunday.

Yasir secured the podium finish with an impressive career-best throw of 79.93 metres.

The gold medal was claimed by Japan’s Roderick Genki Dean, who achieved a distance of 83.15 metres while the silver medal went to India’s Manu Devarakeshavi Prakash with a throw of 81.01 meters.

This achievement marks Pakistan’s first and only medal in the championship.
