BATKHELA: A young man was killed and three others, including a passerby, were injured in a gun attack in Thana area here on Saturday.

Thana Levies post registered a case on the complaint of the injured, Fawad Ahmad. He told the officials that he along with his brother Arif and a sister was going home when the attackers opened firing on them. He said that Arif died instantly, while he, his nephew Sudais and a passerby, Shwal, sustained bullet injuries.

He nominated Fazal Hameed and his brother Mohammad Islam, Mohammad Farman, Bilal Shahzad and Hussain in the case. The motive behind the killing was stated to be a land dispute between the two groups.

Meanwhile, former provincial minister Shakeel Khan was sent to Malakand lockup on judicial remand.

He was arrested on charges of involvement in illegal appointments in the health department.

He was produced before the court of senior civil judge Batkhela by the anti-corruption officials on the completion of his physical remand on Saturday. The court sent the former minister to lockup on judicial remand.
