DERA ISMAIL KHAN: An 11-year-old girl was assaulted when she was going home from a madressa in Jatta area in the limits of Prova police station, a police official said here on Friday.

The official said that a youth, identified as Huzaifa, took the girl to nearby fields under some pretext and assaulted her there. He said that the accused managed to escape the scene.

The victim told her family members about the incident, after which she along with her brother reached the police station, and got a case registered.

The police official said that the medical check-up of the minor girl confirmed the assault on her.

Meanwhile, a youth died when his motorcycle collided with a truck on Daraban Road near Kotla Syedan area, a Rescue 1122 official said on Friday.

He said that Tufail died on the spot.

The official said that a medical team shifted the body to Mufti Mehmood Teaching Hospital.

The police have registered a case against the truck driver, who escaped the area.
