ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has disbursed over Rs67 billion among 7.4 million beneficiaries.

During the disbursement of 4th quarterly tranche of BISP, nearly 7.4 million deserving women from poor families have been benefited through this programme for the financial year 2022-23.

Under Benazir Kafaalat, 9 million registered beneficiary families are entitled to a quarterly installments of Rs9,000 per household. BISP has already released over Rs81 billion to its partner banks including Bank Alfalah and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for disbursement among the beneficiaries through their retail distribution network.

Along with Benazir Kafaalat, Benazir educational scholarships are also being granted to the children of registered families but it is conditional to 70 percent attendance in the schools to receive the stipends, said the spokesman of the programme.

In case of any complaint or query, beneficiaries are requested to approach the nearest BISP Tehsil Offices or call on toll-free helpline number 080026477 of Benazir Income Support Program. The BISP spokesman reiterated that official messages from Benazir Income Support Program are sent only from 8171; citizens must refrain from trusting messages from numbers otherwise.
