SWABI, Jan 29: Legitimate struggles in Kashmir, Palestine and Iraq cannot be termed terrorism, says the president of International Islamic University Islamabad and Director-General of Dawa Academy, Dr Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi.

The US and its allies were targeting Muslim countries under the pretext of fighting terrorism to achieve their global objectives, he said.

He was talking to Dawn on Sunday before participating in a three-day workshop on personality development at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

He said that after occupation forces withdrew from these areas, the people would give up their struggle and there would not be any fight.

Muslims, he said, were economically, militarily and technologically weak but their rivals had made great advancements in these fields.

The Muslims were also instigated to fight against one another which often resulted in wars, providing an opportunity to the merchants of death to sell their arms while causing further weakening of the Muslim states, he remarked.

Disunity among the Muslims provided an opportunity to the US to steal natural resources and the free flow from Muslim countries to America and developed world continued unabated.
