KARACHI, Jan 28: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has directed to suspend staff of North Nazimabad police station for detaining an innocent after registering a false case against him.

On receipt of information from his personal sources about keeping an innocent person named Asif in police lockup, the home minister paid a surprise visit to North Nazimabad police station late on Friday night. Finding the person kept in the police lockup, Rauf Siddiqui issued orders for suspension of the staff of the police station besides ordering an inquiry and action against them.

“If any innocent was found detained in any police station, strict action would be taken against its staff, including the SHO,” warned the minister.

He also visited other police stations and inspected the lockups.—APP
