PESHAWAR, Jan 27: Six members of a family were among seven people shot dead in the Spinkay Dheray village of the Badhber area in the city suburbs on Friday morning, police said. Another man was reported critically injured.

The family of Haji Azram, belonging to the Orakzai Agency, had purchased land in the Spinkay Dheray village some time ago. But they developed a conflict with Faqir Mohammad, a resident of the same area, over a piece of land, police said.

On Thursday night, members of Haji Azram’s family allegedly attacked the house of Faqir Mohammad and killed his son Haqdarullah.

Soon after the murder, Faqir Mohammad along with his other four sons, Zar Mohammad, Neik Mohammad, Sameen and Niazdar, attacked the house of Haji Azram to avenge the death of his son and injured him critically.

Haji Azram and his other family members were on their way to the Badhber police station on Friday morning when Faqir Mohammad and his sons again attacked them and killed six persons on the spot. They included Haji Azram, Azizur Rehman, Haji Sharif, Inamul Haq, Akhtar and Sarzameen. While Haji Azram’s son Mohammad Rehman received bullet injuries. Wife of Haji Azram, Lal Marjana, registered a case against their rivals.
