LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed and 11 others, including women and children, were injured in a grenade attack in Bannu on Saturday night, the police said.

Miryakhel police station officials said on Sunday unidentified assailants hurled a grenade at the house of Mohammad Ali Shah in Mandori Patal Shah area.

They said the grenade exploded with a bang, prompting police to find the spot and reach there.

The officials said owner of the house, Muhammad Ali Shah was killed in the attack, while his 11 family members were injured. They said the deceased and wounded persons were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Meanwhile, Bannu district police officer Qasim Ali Khan visited the site of the explosion. He directed the district police officer to trace the attackers with the help of modern technology.

He also met the relatives of the deceased and expressed his grief and sympathies with them.

He assured them that the miscreants involved in the attack would be arrested soon.
