RAWALPINDI: Two women, one of them a teenage girl, were raped, police said on Sunday.

A teenage girl was allegedly assaulted by her cousin in the Airport police area, they said, adding that legal process was initiated on the complaint of the grandfather of the victim as she was taken to the hospital for medical examination to ascertain the facts.

Police said the city police officer (CPO) had taken notice of the complaint and sought a report in this connection.

In Dhoke Kala Khan, a woman complained to Airport police that she lived with her husband in a room, while her husband’s elder brother who had the keys, used to come and rape her after threatening to kill her.

She further said after she complained to her husband, she was beaten by him and told that she was lying as his brother was innocent. She was hung from a ceiling fan by her husband, mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She said in the first information report (FIR) that she called her father but he was also threatened of dire consequences by her in-laws.
