RAWALPINDI: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) member was elevated as vice president of Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) on Friday under an agreement with the ruling PML-N.

CCB President and Station Commander Brig Salman Nazar administered oath to Khalid Mirza on Friday after a gap of three months.

The cantonment members were suspended after the announcements of elections in Punjab in February but were restored in June.

PML-N got five seats in Sept 12, 2021 cantonment board elections, JI and PTI got two seats each, and one was clinched by and independent candidate.
