KASUR, Jan 27: Scores of passengers suffered severe injuries when they jumped out of a moving train after witnessing another train on the same track at the Kasur railway station on Friday.

Reports said Bulleh Shah Express from Pakpattan was waiting for green signal for its onward journey to Lahore at the local railway station. In the meantime, Samasatta Express, approaching Kasur station, was also given clearance on the same track. Sensing danger, the driver of Samasatta Express applied emergency brakes to avert disaster. Panic created among passengers and scores of them, apprehending imminent collision, threw themselves out of the running train to save their lives. Consequently, scores of passengers sustained injuries. However, the driver succeeded in halting the train.
