LAHORE: Police on Thursday arrested the wife of former governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema from the anti-terrorism court while her husband was sent to judicial lock-up in the Askari Tower attack case.

Rabia Sultan came to the court to meet her husband who was brought from the jail on expiry of his judicial remand in the tower attack case.

The police arrested Rabia as she came out of the courtroom after meeting her husband.

The police personnel arrested the wife of the former governor under the supervision of a woman SP, however, it was unclear in which case the arrest was made.

Judge Abher Gul Khan directed the Gulberg police to submit challan against Cheema in the tower case and sent him back to jail on judicial remand.
