KARACHI: A man was shot dead in what appeared to be an act of targeted killing in Korangi, police said on Sunday.

The Zaman Town police said Mohammed Ismail riding a motorbike when the assailant intercepted him near Dhobi Ghat, 100 Quarters, fired at him and rode away. He suffered a single bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.

An area police officer, Ayaz Abbasi, said that the victim was a property dealer and involved in sale and purchase of plots in Ibrahim Hyderi where some land disputes were reportedly running between him and others. The murder might be an outcome of such property disputes, he added.

The victim originally hailed from Attock. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a post-mortem examination.
