KHYBER: Four policemen and three soldiers were injured in two separate attacks by miscreants in Bara and Tirah valley here on Sunday, the police said.

Police in Bara said that unidentified miscreants attacked the Qeemat Khan police checkpost in Bara Qambarkhel area early on Sunday morning. The police retaliated to the intense firing.

They said that four policemen received injuries in the cross-fire with the attackers making good their escape after a matching response by the policemen at the post.

The injured policemen, who were identified as Safiullah, Naseem, Zarmin Gul and Kher Zar, were later shifted to a hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.

In Tirah, suspect militants targeted a security forces patrolling party with an improvised explosive device in Khwajal Khel area, causing injuries to three soldiers.

The injured were identified as Khalil Khan, Shehzad and Abdur Rehman.
