KARACHI, Jan 26: The additional district and sessions judge, East, Jawaid Qaiser, sentenced on Thursday a woman to suffer life imprisonment for killing her husband, Sardar Masih.

The court also awarded an identical punishment to her paramour.

Ms Veero alias Bushra and Imroz Masih alias Gullo had strangled Sardar Masih on April 4, 2002 in Korangi. Later, the two hanged the body with the ceiling fan to fake the murder with suicide.

The Korangi police registered the case against the woman and her paramour on the complaint of her own son, Vilayat Masih. Besides, Veero’s daughter, Nazia, gave statement against her mother before a judicial magistrate.
