KARACHI, Jan 26: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.
In the meantime another ship with wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy maintained at 78 per cent as eight ships, Mare Lycium, Gallant Wave, Warbah, Docomo, Sea Synergy, Sea Charm, Chemstar Eagle and Ace-7, were busy in loading and unloading containers, diesel oil, edible oil, wheat and chemicals.
A cargo volume of 54,446 tons comprising 40,591 tons of import cargo and 13,855 tons of export tonnage was handled.
Sailing was active as Gallant Wave, Warbah, Chemstar Eagle and Docomo left the port while Mare Lycium and Sea Synergy were due to depart.
Two ships, China Star and Yanaseni, carrying containers and chemicals were due to arrive while Maersk Vungtau was expected to reach on Saturday.
Five ships, Alpha Flamee, May Oldendroff, Al-Mirqab, Katharina and Laem Thong Pride, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
