LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Friday allowed post-arrest bail of 12 suspects while dismissed of 18 others in a case of torching a container at Kalma Chowk during the May 9 riots by the PTI workers against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Naseerabad police had arrested the suspects after registering a case against them.

The suspects had been sent to jail on judicial remand by the trial court.

Allowing bail petitions of the 12 suspects, Judge Abher Gul Khan directed them to furnish surety bonds of Rs100,000 each.

CHALLAN: An anti-terrorism court on Friday directed the Sarwar Road police to submit challan against 13 women workers of the PTI in a case of Jinnah House attack during the May 9 violence.

In the written order issued about the June 8 hearing, Judge Abher Gul Khan said: “The investigating officer is directed to submit challan qua the accused within the stipulated time.”

The judge had denied the police further physical remand of the women suspects and sent them to jail on judicial remand. He directed the police to produce the suspects again on June 22.

The women suspects include fashion designer Khadija Shah, a granddaughter of former army chief Asif Nawaz Janjua, former MNA Alia Hamza, Sanam Javed, Tayyaba Abmreen Raja, Maryam Mazari, Sabuhi Inam, Huma Saeed, Ayesha Masood, Maha Masood and Khadija Nadeem.
