Probables called for final trials

LAHORE, Jan 25: Thirty seven probables from Sindh and Punjab were called for two-day final trials to select Pakistan under-23 team for the forthcoming South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka this year. The trials will be held at the Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad on Jan 27 and 28.

Pakistan coach Salman Ahmed Sharida picked the 37 players from trials held in Sindh from Jan 17 to 21 and in Punjab from Jan 23 to 25.

The probables from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Northern Areas, Fata, NWFP and departments will be sent by their respective organizations.

PFF had asked all the concerned organizations to send the players to report at Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad by Jan 26.

The selected players will join the national camp starting from Sunday.

Probables:

Goalkeepers (4): Asad Ullah (Wapda), Rao Yameen (POF), Aqeel Ahmed (HBL), Nawaz (SGP).

Defenders (11) : Tanveer, Akram Masih, Zeshan, Mustaqeem, Ayyaz Baloch, Yasir, Muhammad Ashfaq (Wapda), Muhammad Adnan (Lahore), Aurangzeb, Misbahul Haq (NBP), Faraz Ali (SGP).

Midfielders (11): Atiqur Rehman (KRL), Abbas Ali, Muhammad Waqas (Quetta), Ghulam Ismaeel, Ghulam Jameel (NBP), Muhammad Wasim (KRL), Javed Hamza, Rustam (KESC), Shah Nawaz (Karachi), Muhammad Akram (Lahore), Yasir (Wapda).

Strikers (11): Ayyaz (Wapda), Safi Ullah (Peshawar), Nasar Ullah (PTCL), Lal Bakhsh, Asif Ayub (KPT), Abdul Ghafoor (KESC), Nazeer Ahmed Danga (HBL), Imran Hussain, Asif Feroz (Karachi), Imran Aziz (NBP), Ali Ehsan (Faisalabad).
