HYDERABAD, Jan 25: The all Parties Muharram-ul-Haram Peace Conference has strongly condemned sectarianism and resolved to ensure peace and harmony in the district during the sacred month of Muharram-ul-Haram. The conference was convened by the Ittehad Benul Muslimeen Committee (Shia Ulema Council) at the press club here on Wednesday.

District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput presided over the conference.

Leaders and representatives of various political parties, social and trade organizations, elected representatives of people, police and law enforcement agencies attended the conference.

The conference urged the federal and provincial governments to release political prisoners and grant remission to other prisoners on humanitarian grounds.

It demanded from the government to reduce prices of essential goods during the sacred month.

Speakers of the conference said that those who try to create differences among Muslims were enemies of Islam.

Paying rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions, the speakers said that Hazrat Imam Hussain was not a leader of any particular sect but a leader of the entire human race.

They pledged to ensure harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram whatever the cost.
