PESHAWAR, Jan 24: A high school for girls in Jandri Union Council of Karak district has been closed for two months following a dispute over appointment of a class-IV employee. The situation is a cause of grave concern for more than 200 students.

People have complained that neither the elected representatives nor the district government have taken notice of the closure of the school situated in Bilalkhel village.

They say that some time back there was exchange of fire between rival groups over the dispute due to which the administration was forced to deploy police at the school.

Ameer Khan advocate, an area resident, said that the police guarded the school for some time during which the school remained closed. Later the police were withdrawn.

An elected representative of the area, requesting anonymity, said that some elements were fanning the dispute because they wanted to have their man employed on the post in the school.

He says that the closure is in the knowledge of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf MPA Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel and District Nazim Rehmat Salam Khattak, but they have failed to resolve the dispute and save future of the students.
