PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) and planning and development department on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish Inclusive Business Development Park (IBDP) to provide an enabling working environment and opportunities for economic development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

The MoU was signed at a ceremony by KPEZDMC chief Javed Khattak and project director Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) of planning and development department Imran Zahoor.

Caretaker minister for industries and commerce Mohammad Adnan Jalil and secretary industries Matiullah Khan were also present.

The MoU envisages establishing the interim setup for IBDP at the Hayatabad Economic Zone.

The initiative is gender-inclusive and will help men, women, differently-abled persons and transgender individuals to establish their businesses.

The management committee established for IBDP would be responsible for oversight and other affairs of the park.

The IBDP is intended to support home-based businesses for sustainable and inclusive economy. The initiative will work to enhance and establish networks amongst businesses, increase awareness and explore opportunities, facilitate knowledge creation and its dissemination and provide platforms for business-to-business ventures.
