GUJRANWALA, Jan 23: Landgrabbers have attempted to stop the construction work of the DHQ Hospital’s trauma centre. Reports said that landgrabbers occupied through fake documents three kanals of hospital land allegedly with the connivance of the Punjab health secretary and tried to stop the construction work forcibly.

MNA Imranullah Chaudhry, MPAs Engineer Ashraf Butt, Chaudhry Nasir Cheema and Ms Nayyer Murtaza Lone and lawyers rushed to the spot when they came to know about it.

They strongly protested against landgrabbers and the health secretary for occupying the hospital land and called upon the Revenue department to cancel the bogus deed of landgrabbers. Immediate termination of the health secretary was also demanded.

Meanwhile, the district officer (revenue) has suspended the ‘khasra’ and ‘khatooni’ numbers and initiated an inquiry into it.

Parliamentarians, lawyers and local chamber of commerce president Akhlaq Ahmad Butt have made it clear that they would not allow anybody to grab the hospital land.

They threatened to take to streets if action was not taken against landgrabbers and the Punjab health secretary. They further demanded that district and sessions judge Mazhar Minhas should be inducted as inquiry tribunal.
