PTI Chairman Imran Khan has thanked the Pakistani community in the United States for raising more than $0.5 million in funds for the “25 martyred” and those injured during the violent protests that followed the ex-premier’s arrest on May 9.

In a tweet, he shared the link to the online fundraiser — titled “Victims of police brutality and torture” — and highlighted that the said amount had been raised in “just over 24 hours”.

Imran especially thanked Dr Nasrullah — a cardiologist in Texas according to the fundraiser’s description — and Asad Faizi for organising the fund.
