Ex-minister Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain has announced that he is withdrawing support for PTI President Parvez Elahi over the May 9 riots.

Earlier this year, Hussain had sworn in his allegiance with Elahi, when the latter left the PML-Q and joined the PTI.

In a press conference in Lahore, Hussain condemned the violent protests of May 9, saying that some people in his family took wrong decisions. “They will soon realise their mistakes.”

“Chaudhry Shujaat will keep whoever wants to come back to PML-Q,” he said, adding that the upcoming time would unite the Chaudhry family. “It is possible that whoever created misunderstandings is the one fixing them.”

Wajahat Hussain also advised Moonis Elahi to return to the PML-Q.
