PESHAWAR, Jan 22: The city traffic police have issued an order declaring several roads as one-way to streamline traffic and end congestion, says a press release issued here on Sunday. Superintendent of Police (traffic) Mohammad Alam Shinwari issued the order on Sunday and said drivers violating the rule would be fined on the spot.

According to the new order, traffic flow from Soekarno intersection to Kabuli will be one-way. The traffic from Kabuli to the Lady Reading Hospital and from there to Grand Trunk Road and then towards Suray Pul will be one-way.

Traffic from Suray Pul to the Soekarno intersection will also be one-way. No vehicle, including the public transport, will be allowed to come from the Soekarno intersection directly to Suray Pul, said the order.

The release said the decision was taken to end the long traffic jams and facilitate access of patients to the Lady Reading Hospital. The strength of traffic police officials will be increased to streamline the traffic affairs on these roads.
