LAHORE: The Kalma underpass remodelling project was inaugurated by caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi here on Tuesday.

The Kalma underpass has been reconstructed and extended by 358 metres. Additionally, underpasses connecting Barkat Market and Alizeb Road have been constructed, and approximately five kilometres of the road network have been restored.

The water supply, sewerage and drainage lines in the project area have been upgraded.

As a measure to address environment pollution, 10,000 new saplings have also been planted.

Mr Naqvi stated the project would alleviate traffic congestion, benefiting an estimated 300,000 vehicles that would make use of the underpass.
