Protest against naib nazim

Published January 22, 2006

SHIKARPUR, Jan 21: Opposition members of the district council held a meeting on Saturday to protest against the attitude of the district naib nazim. They criticized adoption of a resolution giving discretionary powers to the district nazim for revising some development schemes approved by the previous district council.

They also resented a ruling of the convener in which he did not allow opposition members to present their proposals and discuss the issue in the council.

The meeting constituted a committee to get their cooperation to resolve the problems in the public interest.

It also decided to approach the Sindh Hari Committee for protecting development schemes approved in 2005-06.
