KARACHI, Jan 21: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual exams under educational boards of the province will commence on April 18, while Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) annual exams on May 16.

The schedule of examinations for students of Class I to XII was finalized by the Sindh education department on Saturday. The admissions for new academic sessions in schools and colleges would be completed from Aug 1 to 15, while the session would begin from Aug 16, said an official of the department.

At a meeting of the steering committee of the education department held over two weeks back, a sub-committee was constituted to look into the conduct of the educational board examinations and recommend dates for the exams to the secretary education.

According to decisions reached at the meeting, theory and practical exams pertaining to SSC will be held from April 18 to May 10, while results will be declared by the board positively latest by July 31.

In the case of HSC theory and practical exams, it was decided that those would be conducted from May 16 to June 16.

The annual examination of Class I to VIII and internal test of Class IX students will be held from May 10 to May 20.
