Call to improve ports

KARACHI, Jan 21: Ports and Shipping Minister Senator Babar Khan Ghauri on Saturday stressed the need for making country’s ports cost effective and customer friendly to meet growing global challenges.

In separate meetings with senior officials of the Port Qasim and Gwadar Port, the minister stressed upon the need for bringing efficiency to compete with regional ports.

Mr Ghauri also asked the port authorities to speed up their development works to maximize contribution towards the national economy.

The minister also met the secretary, ministry of ports and shipping, Zia-ur-Rehman, and discussed with him important port related matters.
