ISLAMABAD: Official sources today [May 6] repudiated reports circulating abroad giving the impression that some Bengali officials, who have opted for Bangladesh, were arrested here last night. When contacted, they said what had happened was that Bengali officials occupying official accommodation according to their status when they were serving the Government of Pakistan have been shifted to repatriation accommodation, pending their repatriation to Dacca. The new accommodation provided for these officials has all the facilities, these sources added. — News agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Moscow,] Dr. Henry A. Kissinger and Mr Leonid I. Brezhnev continued … their talks on bilateral relations and Mr Brezhnev’s planned trip to America next month, a US Embassy spokesman said. US President Richard Nixon’s National Security Affairs Adviser and the General Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party remained secluded at Brezhnev’s hunting Dacha on the Volga River at Zavidovo, 75 miles northwest of Moscow. The only word from the dacha was “talks are continuing … they said that’s all they care to say”. The dacha is situated in woodlands inaccessible to foreigners.
