LAHORE, Jan 20: The government servants who had applied for the membership of the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation within the specified period and retired after March 12, 2004, will be eligible for allotment of houses constructed by the foundation.
This was decided at a meeting of the foundation’s board of directors which was presided over by additional chief secretary Naguibullah Malik here on Friday.
The meeting was informed that 75,000 government servants had applied for the membership for acquiring houses at the time of their retirement, and deduction from their salaries had also been started from September 2005 on the pattern of GP Fund. About 1,500 employees retired during this period.
It was stated that the procedure for the recovery of the cost of houses would soon be decided.
The meeting also reviewed matters regarding the acquisition of land in different cities for the projects of the foundation as well as development and related affairs.
