CHATTOGRAM: Pakistan U-19 pacers Amir Hassan and Mohammad Ismail shared seven wickets between them to restrict Bangladesh U-19 to 149 in their one-off four-day match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday.

After being put into bat by Pakistan captain Saad Baig, Bangladesh were undone by the pace and swing by the visiting bowlers, who made the most of the assistance offered by the pitch in the morning session.

The home side top-order batters were clueless against Amir and Ismail and the hosts were reeling at 21-5 by the end of the first 10 overs an 81-run stand for the sixth wicket between Bangladesh captain Sharear Sakib and Sheikh Parvaiz Jibon.

Parvaiz top-scored for his side with a 111-ball 56, hitting eight fours while Sharear added 48 off 98 with the help of six boundaries.

For Pakistan U-19, Amir bagged 4-29 in 16 overs while Ismail took 3-41 in 13 overs. Vice-captain Ali Asfand grabbed two wickets for 37 runs in 14 overs..

Pakistan U-19 were 76-0 when stumps were drawn on day one as the opening pair of Azan Awais and Shahzaib Khan provided a solid start to the innings and returned undefeated on 36 and 39 runs respectively.

Left-handed Azan’s innings included six fours while Shahzaib struck eight fours off the 72 balls that he faced.

Scores in brief:

BANGLADESH U-19 149 all out in 59 overs (Sheikh Parvaiz Jibon 56, Sharear Sakib 48; Amir Hassan 4-29, Mohammad Ismail 3-41, Ali Asfand 2-37); PAKISTAN U-19 76-0 in 26 overs (Shahzaib Khan 39 not out, Azan Awais 36 not out).
