HARIPUR: Three people were killed and four injured in four road accidents here, the police said on Wednesday.

The police said that a motorcycle collided with a car head-on injuring riders Samiullah and Mubashir Ali, both friends.

They said that Samiullah, a resident of Serae Saleh area, died on the spot, while Mubashir, a resident of Rehana village, succumbed to head injuries on the way to the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad.

Witnesses said that the accident was caused by reckless motorcycle riding.

In another accident, Danish Adnan of Khalabat Township was killed after the motorcycle he rode skidded off the Bypass Road near the Kangra Colony and fell into a gorge.

Also, two motorcycles collided head-on on the Khanpur Road near the Noor Colony injuring riders Khanwaiz and Mohammad Nazakat.

The injured were shifted to the trauma centre.

The police said the incident was caused by reckless motorcycle riding.

Also, a car plunged into a ravine along the Bypass Road near Paniyan village injuring two people on board.

The injured, including Sameer Ahmad and Shah Mir, were shifted to the trauma centre by rescue workers.

EID SECURITY: The Hazara police have finalised the security plan for the Eidul Fitr festival.

In a news release, the office of the regional police officer said that the police had identified at least 100 public places in all eight districts of Hazara division for special security checks before and during Eid holidays.

It added that those places included bazaars, mosques, turnarounds and other sensitive points, where7,000 police personnel, including women, would be deployed to protect public life and property.

The RPO’s office also said that the bomb disposal and canine units of the police would carry out search operations at “selected” points, while the traffic police would regulate vehicular flow on the roads during Eid holidays.
