LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Tuesday to have killed two suspected terrorists belonging to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Rajanpur district.

According to CTD spokesperson, a CTD team received an information that five suspected terrorists of banned organisation TTP (Jamaatul Ahrar) were planning to attack LEAs in Rajanpur and were present in the jurisdiction of Rojhan tehsil police station. The suspects were carrying explosive material and weapons.

The CTD team reached the spot at which the suspects opened fire. During an intense exchange of fire, two suspects Ilyas and Irfanullah were killed in firing by their accomplices while the other three suspects fled away.

The team also recovered one Kalashnikov, one magazine and 31 rounds, two pistols along with 20 rounds, 1,500gram explosive, 9ft prima cord, one non-electric detonator and one tape solution.

A case was registered at the DG Khan CTD police station.
