DERA GHAZI KHAN: Two workers were asphyxiated while cleaning sewer lines here on Monday in Rojhan.

Owing to overflow and suffocation, one of the workers fell into the disposal well chamber while another Muhammad Husain in a bid to save his colleague also lost his life.

As soon as the rescue team got the information, bodies were retrieved from the disposal well and shifted to the hospital.

The incident highlights the dangers of manual scavenging and lack of proper safety measures for workers involved in such tasks.

The authorities must take immediate action to provide better equipment and training to those responsible for cleaning the sewerage and disposal well chamber to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
